What is this??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STYed is the second GTA2 utility from Gain Software (The first is a GTA2 text editor, called GXTed. See the site for details).
With STYed you can view all the graphics used in GTA2. This includes the textures (tiles) used for the road, buildings etc... and all the cars in the game.
Before editing any .sty files though, it is advised you make a backup of the file your changing, in case anything bad happens (You have been warned!).
How do I do it??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start up STYed. Open a .sty file, select either "Yes - I want to load tiles" or "No - I dont want to wait for the tiles to load".
The sty files included with GTA2 are:

	wil.sty - Level 1 graphics
	ste.sty - Level 2 graphics
	bil.sty - Level 3 graphics
	fstyle.sty - Hmm, not quite sure what this is for. Seems to have some fonts and a few textures??

fstyle.sty currently wont load properly in to STYed, but this will be fixed soon.

Select a tile/sprite (car, ped, font, which ever), then choose file->export->export image. Select a suitable name for the file.
Open up the new .bmp file you just saved in a suitable graphics app, like MS Paint, or Paint Shop Pro, and change it!
When you've made your changes, load it back in to STYed by selecting the orginal image, then file->import->import image.
Your new image should suddenly appear! Save the .sty file, start GTA2, load whatever level youv'e been changing, and drive your new car/walk your new walk(way).

The crashes look funny!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In STYed 1.0 it was not possible to view or edit the deltas for any of the cars. Deltas are overlays used by GTA2 to alter the image of a car. For example, if your driving isn't the best the corners of the car will appear to get bashed up. If you've changed your a car, and during play you crash it about or mess it up somehow, and the deltas don't look proper.... then you need new deltas, now available since STYed 1.1!!!
For more information on how to edit the deltas with STYed, see deltas.txt included with the zip.
The colours are messed up!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Be careful when editing your image in your paint package. You should only use the palette (the collection of colours used by that picture) that is saved with the picture, as this is the palette GTA2 will use during the game. If, however, you use a completely different palette to design your car. It is possible to have GTA2 use it.
Palette's compatible with STYed only include the JASC Paint Shop Pro, 256 colour palette.
Save your palette as a .pal file, and in STYed, choose a palette number greater than 280 (All other palettes shoudl not be tampered with), for example, palette 280! Choose file->import->import palette, and your new palette will be loaded. Now, select the sprite who's palette you wish to change, select edit->image properties, and then change the palette number to the one you choose, such as 280. Click done, and re-select your sprite. It will then be displayed with the new palette, which is how it will look in GTA2.
Follow that?
Save, and play.

Notes/Issues/Changes come soon:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The "Save As" function does not work at the moment. Instead, just make a copy of a sty file, rename it, and use it in STYed as you wish.
Bugs in the delta editing have been ironed out and hopefully there will be no problems. See deltas.txt
Cut, copy and past doesn't work. Hopefully this will be added soon, so you can just copy-n-paste an image in to a graphics app.
Changes in 1.4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Editable doors!
Editable car height/width!
Editable axels/windows!
Fixed delta loading bug!

Changes in 1.3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Loading and saving now alot faster - but importing is now slower :(
Deltas are working 100% correctly. No more speckles or anything :)
Sound problems are nothing to do with STYed. If you have renamed your style file, make sure you have a the correct .raw and .sdt in gta2\data\audio, if you've renamed wil.sty to something like mine.sty then just copy and rename wil.raw to mine.raw and wil.sdt to mine.sdt and the sound will work right.
The "Load Tiles?" box no longer appears. Instead, you have a "load cars" and "load cars+tiles" menu options.
Different options (flags) for the cars can now be edited in "Image Properties". Editable doors coming next.
Changes in 1.2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fixed the (silly) error during importing some larger delta sets.
Fixed some sprites not importing/exporting properly.
