What's new?
-----------
Please see the 'CHANGELOG' file for any changes between this and the last
version.

Windows Installation
--------------------

Installation of the dedicated server on a Windows system can be done in two
ways: by downloading the Setup install-file or the zip archive.

If you have downloaded the MTAServer Setup, then you should be able to just
run the Installer, click a bunch of "Next"'s and then move on to the
"Configuration" section below.

If you have downloaded the MTAServer zip archive, then you will need to
unzip the archive to a directory of your choice and then move on to the
"Configuration" section below.

Linux, OpenBSD or FreeBSD Installation
--------------------------------------

There are two ways of installing the dedicated server: you can either
install the dedicated server by downloading the self-installing binary
(linux only) or the .tar.gz archive.

If you have downloaded the MTAServer self-installer, then you should
run the self-installer script. Make sure you CHMOD the file to 755 so
you will be able to execute it. You will also need to have the ncurses
or curses library, tar and gzip to run installer.
Please follow the instructions from the installer to install the dedicated
server to a directory you wish.
After the installation is complete, the configuration program will be
automatically launched. For more information, please see the "Configuration"
section below.

If you have downloaded the MTAServer tar.gz archive, then you will need to
unextract the file to a directory of your choice.
To extract the files from the archive, you can use "tar zxvf archive" where
archive is the filename of the archive.
After extracting, proceed to the "Configuration" section below.

Configuration
-------------

All dedicated server distributions for this version include a configuration
tool for easy configuration of the dedicated server.

Windows users can use the configuration tool included to configure. Please
follow the instructions within this program.

Linux users can use the "setup"-tool to configure. Use ./setup to run the
program and then follow the instructions within the setup.
If you come across any problems executing the file, make sure it's permission
is set to 755 (chmod). Also make sure you have the ncurses or curses library
installed.

OpenBSD and FreeBSD users should edit the configuration file manually. The
configuration file can be changed by using any text editor.
The configuration of the dedicated server seems a little bit complicated at
first, but the default settings are typically ideal for many setups.

The default configuration file is "mtaserver.conf" and should be located in
the same directory as the server binary. You may override the path to the
configuration file by using the "-c path" or "--conf path" (where path is
the path to your configuration file) when running the server.

The actual configuration file options are outlined in the default configuration
file and the configuration tools included within all dedicated server
distributions. You may also find a listing of these options in the manual
associated with this release.

Server usage
------------

Once configured, the MTA Server is extremely easy to use. Just run the
executable and the configuration will be read, if found, and the dedicated
server will attempt to begin listening.
On an error, you will be notified. Check the "Troubleshooting" section
for assistance.

If you wish to list the arguments that can be passed to the MTA Server, please
run the executable with the -h or --help argument. The help will be displayed.

Uninstallation
--------------

This is one of the easiest tasks, just delete the files!

Troubleshooting
---------------

We have decided not to outline some common problems here for the sake of space
in the document.
