NOTES: Scratch-built Smart model created in ZModeler v1.06f for
Grand Theft Auto 3. One of the smallest mass-production cars in
Europe, the Smart is one of the more successful styling exercises
in recent memory with versatility to boot. Installation
instructions are as follows:

1) Download IMG Tool from http://www.gta3files.com/ if you do not
   already have this utility.

2) Backup your gta3.img and txd.img files. They should be located in
your gta3/models directory. If you don't do this, then the only
way to return your game to normal will be to reinstall.

3) At the moment, the only way to load new car models in the game is
to replace an existing car with the new one. I chose the Manana,
and cannot guarantee that the model will load if you replace any
other car. People have had success replacing other cars with previous
models of mine, but use your own judgement. Read the warning below
for more info regarding replacing specific types of cars.

Using IMG Tool, load txd.img. Find the corresponding car TXD
(ex. stallion.txd) and delete it from txd.img. This will take some
time. Then, once the original car TXD is gone, add elise.txd to
txd.img. IMG Tool will prompt you to provide a new filename for the
TXD; use the name of the TXD you just deleted from txd.img (from the
   previous example, also stallion.txd)

4) Repeat the same steps for gta3.img, only using the DFF files instead
of the TXD files. So, delete carname.dff from gta3.img and add
elise.dff and give carname.dff as the new name.

5) Load up GTA3 and look for your brand new shiny car. Enjoy.

This model includes fully-working doors, as well as a complete set of
damage models and some new textures (lights, interior, grille).
No changes to handling.cfg or carcols.dat were made - you can probably
tune a car better than I can. I recommend changing the wheel size in
default.ide to 0.7 if you replace a model other than the Manana. Edit
these values at your own risk.

Known bugs in this car include engine smoke coming from the wrong part
of the car (the Smart's engine is actually in the rear of the vehicle,
underneath the floor). As far as I know, this car does NOT crash the game
when moving between parts of Liberty City (ex. Shoreside Vale to Staunton
Island). Do NOT attempt to replace any four-door vehicles with the Smart,
as the absence of rear-door dummies will cause your game to crash after
certain types of collisions.

Also, due to the Smart's unusual dimensions, the model is slightly taller
and far shorter than many of the game's existing collision models. In
other words, you may find that the Smart will crash into objects even
though there appears to be space between the car's front and the object.
You can change the car's overall dimensions by editing the handling.cfg
file. Recommended dimensions: XYZ - 2.0, 1.8, 2.0. Again, edit these
values at your own risk.

You may modify this car for public distribution on TWO CONDITIONS:
1) Tell me what you're doing, just so I know, and
2) On the website you host your new model on and/or in any
documentation included with the model, you credit me and provide a
   link to the original.
