=== 2. Installation instructions for Vice City ====
===================================================
---------------------------------------------------

You need these programs:

- Notepad (or any other text editor)

- IMG Tool
  you can find it from any major GTA 3/VC site
  (for example: gtawip.com, www.codenamevice.co.uk)

- Steve-M's CollisionFileEditor
  Get it from Steve's homepage:
  http://people.freenet.de/steve-m
  or any other colfile editor (no instructions for
  them here, though)

Of course you can choose not to install the new
collision files but that's not recommended.
If you choose not to install the collision file
I recommend replacing the Blista Compact (blistac).

NOTE:
REMEMBER TO BACK UP THE ORIGINAL FILES BEFORE INSTALLATION!
And remember to uncheck "read only" for the entire GTA VC
folder and every file in it.

In this little guide I'm using Blista Compact (from now on
I'll call it by it's shorter name, blistac) as an example.
You don't have to replace blistac if you don't want to.
You can replace any (preferably 2-door)
car with this if you use the new collision file!

==================================================
2.1. Installing mesh and textures (.dff and .txd):
==================================================

1. Open IMG Tool. Open gta3.img with it.
   (File > Open)
   The gta3.img is located in "GTA VC/models"

2. Back up blistac.dff and blistac.txd by extracting them.
   (Edit > Find / Find Next)
   (Commands > Extract)
   Then delete blistac.dff and blistac.txd from the .img
   (Commands > Delete)

3. Add blistac.dff and blistac.txd from the folder where
   you have unzipped the zip file.
   (Commands > Add)

Done!

=============================
2.2. Installing car settings:
=============================

1. Back up handling.cfg, default.ide and carcols.dat
   They are located in "GTA VC/data"

2. Open handling.cfg in Notepad. Search for blistac. Replace the
   line of numbers between words "BLISTAC" and "BOXVILLE" with the
   line above. (look at 1. Car settings > GTA VC > handling.cfg)

3. Open default.ide in Notepad. Search for blistac. Replace the
   two last fields in the line (by default: 254, 0.7) with these:
   252, 0,63
   (252 is the id number of the wheel and 0,63 is the size of the wheel)

4. Open carcols.dat in Notepad. Search for blistac. Replace the
   numbers with these: 76,76, 7,7, 19,19, 28,28, 35,35, 48,48, 56,56

Done!

======================================
2.3. Installing collision file (.col):
======================================

1. Back up vehicles.col.
   It's located in "GTA VC/models/coll"

2. Open Steve-M's Collision File Editor. Load vehicles.col in it.
   (File > Load)

3. Search for blistac and then click it. Now click "Replace" on the
   right. (or Coll > Edit > Replace)
   Find and open stangcol.col.

4. Now you should have a new box titled "Replace Collision Object"
   in front of you. Select the only item on the list and click
   "Replace".

5. Save.  (File > Save)

Done!
Now you have everything installed! Just run GTAVC and enjoy! ;)

---------------------------------------------------

You may upload this to your site if you want but
only if you don't chance the contents of the zip
file in any way! And please do send me an e-mail
if you add this to your site! I insist! :)

If you want to
 - modify and release the modified car
 - convert the car to another game
 - make the car a part of some mod
e-mail me and ask for permission first! I might not
answer in the same day or even in the same week, though.
